MP Aoun: Future Bloc is disrupting the work of institutions

Head of the Change and Reform Bloc MP Michel Aoun said on Tuesday that President Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister Najib Mikati misjudged the Orthodox Gathering’s electoral draft law, pointing out that March8 forces are not against holding the elections on their due time.

“I am still against postponing the elections and extending the mandate of the Parliament,” Aoun added.

As for signing the electoral decree that calls on the electoral bodies to hold the upcoming parliamentary elections on the 9th of June, MP Aoun said that both

President Sleiman and PM Najib Mikati signed the decree under the pretext of implementing the 1960’s electoral law.

MP Aoun added that the Orthodox Gathering’s electoral draft is one step away from the General Authority adding that the 1960’s law had been “buried” and elections will not be held upon it.

“A law that does not violate the constitution is consensual,” MP Aoun said.

Regarding the Future Bloc, MP Aoun said that the latter is disrupting the work of the state’s institutions and added that March14 members “deprived citizens of their rights”.
