REPORT: No candidature submissions so far at Interior Ministry

The Ministry of Interior opened its doors on Monday to receive candidatures for the upcoming parliamentary elections, but so far, no one has submitted any application, reports said.

In this framework, Change and Reform Bloc MP Alain Aoun and LF MP Georges Adwan told LBCI that there will be no candidacy applications and added that Christian forces will have a stance regarding the acceptance of candidatures since they reject the 1960’s electoral law.

In addition, sources told LBCI that Speaker Nabih Berri will call for the general authority, following the Cabinet's session that will be held on the 21st of March.
