Major General Ashraf Rifi to hand over ISF authority

The General Directorate of the Internal Security Forces called for holding a ceremony on Saturday at 4 PM in Ashrafieh whereby Major General Ashraf Rifi hands over the ISF authority to Brigadier General Roger Salem.

On the 22nd of March 2013, caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced the cabinet's resignation after talks deadlocked over the extension of Internal Security Forces chief Major General Ashraf Riff's mandate and the formation of an Election Supervisory Committee.
