Plumbly meets with Mansour; mulls Syrian crisis

The United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon Derek Plumbly held on Thursday a meeting with Caretaker Foreign Minister Adnan Mansour whereby he tackled the situation in the region, mainly the Syrian crisis, calling on the UN chief Ban Ki-Moon to broker a settlement in order to stop the bloodshed in Syria.

Following his meeting with Mansour, Plumbly stressed the need to adopt the policy of dissociation, and discussed the current developments as well as the condition of the displaced Syrians in Lebanon.

“We are directly concerned with the file of the Syrian refugees that we always tackle on the international level since we need further assistance in this regard,” Plumbly said.
