REPORT: Tension prevails in Tripoli amid tight security measures

Tension prevailed on Saturday in Tripoli’s Abi Samraa region following the deployment of armed persons from Al-Hassoun across the Manar University.

In this context, schools in Abi Samraa closed their doors and Lebanese Armed Forces members implemented tight security measures to contain the situation.

The tension came in light of the death of citizen Yehya Hassoun who was killed on Friday evening as two young men riding a motorcycle opened fire towards a coffee shop following a personal dispute in the region of Abi Samra.
