Maronite League responds to Mufti Jouzou

The Maronite League Executive Council responded on Monday to Mount Lebanon Mufti Sheikh Mohammed Ali Jouzou's accusations labeling Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Bechara Rai's stances as "extremist".

The Council said that Patriarch Rai's stances always served Lebanon's interests, stressing that the Maronite Church's principles highlight coexistence among the Lebanese people.

The Council called on Mufti Jouzou to reconsider his position over Patriarch Rai, urging all Lebanese religious figures to ease their rhetoric in order to preserve Lebanon's stability and civil peace.
