Osama Saad: Sidon's stability is at stake

The Secretary General of the Popular Nasserite Organization Osama Saad said on Thursday that the sectarian rhetoric witnessed in Lebanon aims at foment strife in the country.

Saad's remarks came during a press conference held at his office in Sidon, whereby he warned of the sit-in called upon by the Imam of Bilal bin Rabah mosque Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir, to be held on Friday in the region of Sidon, describing it as a "provocative step".

Saad called on the concerned authorities to safeguard Sidon's stability and security as well as the safety of its residents.
