REPORT: Sheikh Assir suspends Sidon's sit-in

Imam of Bilal bin Rabah mosque Sheikh Ahmad al-Assir announced on Thursday the suspension of his sit-in set for Friday and this according to the Sheikh, to pave the way for a solution for the Abra apartments.

Sheikh al-Assir's announcement came during a press conference whereby he said that he is not to be blamed if a solution is not found to the pending issues.

He added that he will not allow Hezbollah's armed men to cause a crisis in the region of Sidon.

Al-Assir and his supporters have staged several rallies recently to protest claims that Hezbollah had rented apartments in the vicinity of the the Bilal bin Rabah Mosque to monitor al-Assir's movements.
