Khoury to LBCI: Jumblatt wants switch, can’t afford Hezbollah clash

Discussing Jumblatt’s press conference, Former MP Ghattas Khoury told Nharkom Said TV show that the Head of the National Struggle Front will remain in the majority but he does see eye to eye with March 8 parties on any of the tabled issues.

“Jumblatt is contemplating the idea of shifting his allegiance back to [March 14], but he knows that it is not the appropriate time because such a switch might put him on a collision course with Hezbollah”, Khoury added.

Khoury stressed that the new cabinet is doing the Syrian regime favors in Lebanon, adding “The Human Rights Charter, or any other charter for that matter, does not allow for injured Syrians to be handed over to security forces instead of receiving treatment.”

Khoury said that the only solution to the Syrian crisis is to put an end to the bloodshed and terminate the cycle of violence.
