Minister Abou Faour says relation with Speaker Berri is not based on preconditions

Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour said on Monday that the National Struggle Front’s relation with House Speaker Nabih Berri "was never been based on acceptance or rejection" adding that what media outlets reported in regards to the front's refusal of Berri’s proposal is not accurate.

In this regard, Minister Abou Faour said following a meeting with Speaker Berri that they will proceed in their consultations in order to reach common grounds regarding the electoral law adding that they agreed with Berri that his proposal is “not ideal”.

The meeting at Ain el-Tineh included Caretaker Ministers Wael Abou Faour, Ali Hassan Khalil, MP Akram Chehayyeb, and PSP member Hisham Nassereddine.
