MP Jumblatt: The Syrian regime has entered a new phase

The head of the National Struggle Front MP Walid Jumblatt pointed out on Monday that "the Israeli raid on Syria may give the regime a new pretext to accuse the opposition of cooperating with the enemy".

"Regardless of the stances concerning the regime, nothing justifies the Israeli raid on Syria, be it currently or in the future," Jumbaltt added.

In his weekly statement to al-Anbaa Daily, MP Jumblatt said that the Syrian regime has entered a new phase of the plan to divide Syria, adding that the international complacency matches with the regime's stances.

"In fact, both sides highlight the threat of the ' takfirist' groups in order to justify the failure to arm the opposition," PSP leader said.

On another note, Jumblatt warned the Druze community against any involvement in the Army or in the public committees, calling on them to prevent being dragged into the formation of an independent Druze canton.
