Israeli army accuses Hezbollah Unit 121 of assassinating Christian politician Elias Hasrouni

The Israeli army spokesperson, Avichay Adraee, publicly accused Hezbollah’s Unit 121 of assassinating Christian politician Elias Hasrouni, the former secretary-general of the Lebanese Forces Party in Bint Jbeil.

According to the military’s statement, the August 1, 2023, operation was far from the car-accident narrative circulated by Hezbollah; instead, it was a planned ambush in Ain Ebel in South Lebanon.

Hasrouni, aged about 70 at the time of his death, was reportedly intercepted on the road near his home, kidnapped, lethally poisoned, and beaten, with broken ribs later discovered, before his body was returned to his vehicle and staged to appear as if it had veered off the road into a tree.
