REPORT: Siniora: Fighting alongside the Syrian regime is an unforgivable crime

Former Prime Minister Fouad Siniora said on Wednesday that "Hezbollah's participation in the Syrian crisis is Lebanon's main source of danger", asking Hezbollah to withdraw its fighters in order to maintain Lebanon's stability.

During a press conference held on the occasion of launching "The slander within the 'Impossible Exoneration'" book, or "Al-Iftira' Fi Kitab al-Ibra'", Siniora called on all citizens to raise their voices demanding the non-participation of their sons in the Syrian crisis.

On "The slander within the 'Impossible Exoneration'" book, Siniora said it is a response to all fabrications and falsehoods raised against Former Prime Minister Rafic Hariri and a reply against the allegations of the Free Patriotic Movement.

"If the FPM's allegations were true, why didn't it take the case to the judiciary. We will take our case against it to the judiciary."

He also asked President Michel Sleiman, House Speaker Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam to be aware of the dangers of the Syrian crisis and its repercussions should Hezbollah remain in the area.

"Implementing the dissociation policy and adhering to the Baabda Declaration are major needs at this time," he said.

On another note, Siniora called for the formation of a cabinet that carries out the upcoming parliamentary elections, demanding the support of PM-Designate Salam in fulfilling this task.

As for the electoral file, Former PM Siniora called for holding the upcoming elections at the soonest time possible adding that "they will not agree upon the Orthodox Gathering's electoral draft since it violates the concept of coexistence".

"The Future Bloc is adherent to any electoral law that offers fair representation among Lebanese factions; the bloc supports the ratification of any version of the Hybrid law that preserves coexistence," Siniora said.
