Habbouch residents protest against quarries

The residents of Habbouch, a village located near the highway leading to the main quarries in the valley of Kfour, staged a demonstration impeding trucks and cement mixers from arriving to the quarry site.

The residents called for stopping the work of these quarries that is disfiguring the natural landscape and harming the environment, the residents’ health and public safety.

A delegation representing residents met with the Mufti of the Higher Islamic Shiite Council Ali Makki who promised them to convey their complaints to the concerned officials in order to come to a solution.
