Trump announces agreement on 10-day ceasefire in Lebanon

U.S. President Donald Trump said he held a “great conversation” with Lebanon’s President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Trump said the two leaders agreed that, in order to achieve peace between their countries, they will formally begin a 10-day ceasefire starting at 5 p.m. Eastern Time.

He also said he directed Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio to work with Israel and Lebanon to secure a lasting peace.

Trump added: ''I will invite Netanyahu and Aoun to the White House for the first meaningful talks between Israel and Lebanon since 1983, a very long time ago. Both sides want to see PEACE, and I believe that will happen.''
