Hbeish to LBCI: government won’t fund STL should Hezbollah stick to its stance

MP Hadi Hbeish believed that PM Najib Mikati’s government will not fund the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) as long as Hezbollah insists on not funding. “No solution will be reached should Hezbollah stick to its stance”, he said.

Hbeish told “Nharkom Said” that Mikati is in a “critical, unenviable situation”. On Mikati’s statement that the stance of Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah did not close the door on STL funding, Hbeish said it was a “funny joke”.

Hbeish said that the current Lebanese government is a Syrian product, adding that it is unacceptable for it to remain silent about the recent Syrian violations and abductions. “It is the LAF’s duty to protect Lebanon’s borders and prevent any breaches, whether coming from the Syrian Army or othes”.
