REPORT: Families of Lebanese hostages in Aazaz: US embassy will be our next target

                   
Daniel Chaieb announced on Thursday in a statement in the name of relatives of Lebanese hostages in Syria’s Aazaz, that the families of the detainees were awaiting the return of General Security Chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim from Turkey to decide whether to stop or continue their sit-ins.            

However, following the visit of Senator John McCain to Syria, Chaieb said they decided to target both the US and Turkish embassies in Lebanon should any obstacle emerge in the case of the hostages release efforts.                 

The families also warned against any harm that may occur to the hostages, adding that the safety of US and Turkish nationals in Lebanon would be in danger.                       

Eleven Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap on the 22nd of May. Only two have so far been released.                   

Their families have vowed to continue their movements until all their loved ones have returned home "safe and sound".                               

They accuse Ankara of sponsoring the kidnapping and the Lebanese government of inaptness in this regard.   

Over the past month they also held major demonstrations in Martyrs Square before the Turkish Airline Offices whereby they announced that they would be calling for the boycott of all Turkish products in Lebanon since "Lebanon imports a billion dollars’ worth of products from Ankara on a yearly basis."
