Lebanese President congratulates new Iraqi PM in phone call

Lebanese President Joseph Aoun held a phone call with Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi, congratulating him on assuming his new responsibilities and wishing him success in office.

During the call, Aoun stressed the importance of maintaining cooperation between Lebanon and Iraq across various sectors.

For his part, al-Zaidi thanked the Lebanese president for his wishes and reaffirmed Iraq’s continued support for Lebanon and its people, particularly amid the difficult circumstances facing the country.
