President Sleiman meets with GCC Ambassadors, discusses file of Syrian refugees

Lebanese President Michel Sleiman met on Saturday at the Baabda Palace with Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Countries and discussed with them the file of the Syrian refugees in the presence of Caretaker Foreign Affairs Minister Adnan Mansour.

Sleiman briefed the ambassadors on the Lebanese stance regarding this file as well as the suggested proposals that aim at sharing the burden of the refugees.

On another note, Sleiman met with the General Security Chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim who briefed him on contacts that he is holding in regards to the Lebanese detainees in Syria’s Aazaz.

Eleven Lebanese pilgrims were kidnapped on their way back from Iran by insurgents hoping to use them for a prisoner swap on the 22nd of May. Only two have so far been released.
