Cabinet convenes in Baabda… Aridi misses sessions

The Cabinet held its ordinary session headed by President Michel Sleiman in Baabda Palace, in the presence of PM Najib Mikati and the ministers.

The cabinet discussed the 4-item agenda that includes: the electoral law, the nationality restoration draft law, the amendment of the Constitutional Council’s prerogatives related to the Constitution’s interpretation, the draft law for separating the Parliament from the Cabinet.

Before the session, the president and the prime minister held a closed-meeting to discuss the latest developments.

Minister of Social Affairs Wael Abou Faour confirmed, prior to the session, that Minister of Public Works Ghazi Aridi would not be present at the cabinet sessions due to the obstacles impeding the work of the Ministry of Public Works and all the ministries, especially that his ministry is in dire need of funds and credits to complete the required work before winter.
