Ellen DeGeneres absolutely made the most of the staggering star power in the front rows inside L.A.'s Dolby Theatre at the 2014 Academy Awards on Sunday, March 2 to pull off what felt like a historic social media moment.
Walking  into the audience, DeGeneres spoke to the always \nominated Meryl Streep, she pitched her concept: "So you are nominated a record-breaking 18 times, so I thought we would try to break another record right now with the most retweets of a photo," she said."So, right now, I'm going to take a picture of us and we will see if we can break the record for the most retweets." The night's host then corralled Streep's neighbors Julia Roberts, Kevin Spacey, Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, Channing Tatum, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Lupita Nyong'o, Jared Leto and other stars.




Ellen then captionned the picture: "If only Bradley's arm was longer. Best photo ever".And yes, all that star power broke Twitter once she tweeted the first pic out. Within the half hour, in fact, it was retweeted more than 1.1 million times to become the most retweeted post ever on Twitter.
