After 13 years of silence, Monica Lewinsky, the former White House intern whose affair with Bill Clinton led to his impeachment, returned to public life with a mission to end online bullying.
In an emotional speech delivered at Forbes' inaugural Under 30 summit in Philadelphia that recalled the 1998 sex scandal with Clinton, 41-year-old Lewinsky launched a campaign aiming at ending cyber-bullying.
She said she was “the first person to have their reputation completely destroyed worldwide via the Internet.”
In her speech, she spoke of her shame, depression and of having suicidal thoughts after the sex scandal news broke out in 1998 and how breaking her silence now aims at fighting cyber-bullying.
