The 21st Century's Worst Job Ever!

The recruitment of a massive labor force is currently picking up speed in the ever expanding world of modern day digital information.

"Content moderators”—those responsible for the removal of offensive material—for social networking sites describe the job as one of the worst in the world since their day revolves around the removal of pictures of a pornographic nature and gruesome videos that include beheadings.

As social media is connecting people like never before, companies have been confronted with the "Grandma Problem": Now that grandparents routinely use services like Facebook, they are exposed to the Internet’s racists, jerks, bullies, creeps, criminals, etc.

They wouldn't continue to log on if they ever find their family pictures sandwiched between a gruesome Russian highway accident and a hardcore porn video.

Social media’s lasting mainstream appeal has largely relied on companies’ ability to monitor the borders of their user-generated content.

Accordingly, companies like Twitter and Facebook depend on an army of workers employed to remove the worst of humanity in order to protect the rest of us.

This has been describes as of late as being one of the worst jobs in the world!
