A bizarre video has emerged showing the moment a 'snake charmer' catches a reptile in his hands - before stroking it to sleep.
The footage shows the man confronting the slithering creature as it rears its head in anger, but after several seconds, the man simply reaches over the snake's head, while distracting it with his other hand and lifts it off the floor.
After letting the reptile dangle for a moment, the man then places the animal back down on the ground.
He then strokes the snake several times until it appears to lie completely still and limp.
It is not clear where the footage was filmed, but the video has been viewed almost 50,000 times in 10 hours.
