Israeli army claims killing two senior Hezbollah Communications Unit Members in Beirut

Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee said that the Israeli army targeted dozens of Hezbollah infrastructure sites over the past night and killed two senior members of Hezbollah’s communications unit.

He wrote on X that “the Israeli army carried out a strike yesterday in Beirut and eliminated Ayyoub Hussein Yaacoub, a senior member of Hezbollah’s communications unit, who previously held a senior position in Hezbollah’s rocket unit. He was a central figure in fire management and took part in directing launch and bombardment operations toward Israel during Operation Northern Arrows. As part of his duties, he also worked on force building and strengthening the capabilities of Hezbollah’s rocket unit.”

He added: “Yasser Mohammad Mubarak was also eliminated. He was another senior member of the communications unit and simultaneously held a position in Hezbollah’s rocket unit.”

He continued: “Over the past night, the Israeli army carried out air and naval strikes on dozens of targets in various areas of southern Lebanon in support of the ground forces operating there, as part of efforts to strip Hezbollah of its capabilities in the area. Weapons depots, launch platforms, military buildings, and other infrastructure were targeted. The Israeli army is also continuing at this time to strike Hezbollah infrastructure across Lebanon.
