Assad meets Druze delegation, says Syria will stick to its position

Syrian president Bashar Assad said that Syria is strong with its people and the support and love of brotherly and friendly peoples. Syria will be able to overcome what it is going through, it won’t abandon its positions, principles or sovereignty no matter the pressure.      

During a meeting with a Lebanese Druze delegation, Assad voiced his deep appreciation to the delegation’s members for their great national position, based on the brotherhood and cooperation between Lebanon and Syria. He also thanked them for their rejection of plots and attempts of foreign meddling in both the Syrian and Lebanese domestic affairs.     

For his part, the Lebanese Democratic Party leader MP Talal Arslan said that the war waged on Syria is a manifestation of a sustained war targeting the [Arab] nation.       

“The goal is to destroy Syria for being the Arab nation’s fortress and for not forfeiting Arab rights.    

Sheikh Nasser Eddine al Gharib said that Syria will remain a bulwark in the face of its enemies, and will come out of the crisis a winner, stronger that some may imagine.
