REPORT: Pope celebrates Mass at Madison Square Garden
Pope Francis celebrated Mass before a cheering crowd of 80,000 people at Madison Square Garden in New York Friday night (September 25).

The facility, which is better known for hosting sports events, was packed with an enthusiastic crowd, which cheered and prayed with the 78-year-old pontiff.

He closed Mass by imploring the crowd to "go in peace, and don't forget to pray for me."

The ceremony capped a day spent addressing international leaders at the United Nations and visiting school children in Harlem.

It was the pontiff's final event in New York.
