Pope Francis received on Saturday General Security Chief Major General Abbas Ibrahim, accompanied by a delegation from the Directorate officers.

Pope Francis and Maj. Gen. Ibrahim held then a closed meeting that lasted for ten minutes, with talks featuring high on the latest developments in the region and the situation of Christians.

The Pope has shown interest in the Lebanese situation, especially in the presidential issue.

Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Ibrahim offered Pope Francis an icon dating back to the eighteenth century.
