IRGC head accuses “Zionists” of being behind Sayyad assassination

In statements posted on the IRGC's website, Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps commander Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami accused "Zionists" of being behind the assassination of officer Sayyad Khodaei earlier this month.

According to Sepah News, the official online news site of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, he also vowed to avenge his assassination.

However, IRGC chief Salami did not use the phrase "the Zionist regime," which is commonly used in official Islamic Republic speeches to refer directly to Israel.
