Pope Francis says Catholic Church must never tolerate sexual abuse cases

Pope Francis reiterated on Sunday that the Catholic Church must "never tolerate" cases of sexual abuse, which he called "barbaric", according to excerpts from an interview he gave to a Portuguese TV channel.

In this interview with TVI/CNN Portugal which excerpts were made available on the channel's website, the Pope said that "this is very clear. No tolerance at all. A priest cannot continue to be a priest if he is an abusive. He cannot because he is either sick or criminal."
