Macron to convene defense council Sunday after US Iran strikes: Presidency

French President Emmanuel Macron plans to convene a meeting of the country's defense council Sunday following U.S. airstrikes on Iran's nuclear facilities, the presidency said.

Macron, who spoke with Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince and the leader of Oman earlier Sunday, "intends to continue his contacts with European partners and leaders in the region in the coming hours," the presidency added.
