[VIDEO] Squirrels Help In Forest Regeneration Without Even Knowing!
Well it seems the old quote that says one man's loss is another man's gain does not solely apply to well, men! According to wildlife ecologist Rob Swihart the poor memory of grey squirrels is actually helping in forest regeneration!

In his study, Swihart explains how the grey squirrels’ poor memory is helping the forests, saying that because these animals compete with many others for the same food, they tend to bury nuts in many secret stashes all over their habitat.

“They can't always get back to where they have buried their food, either because they forgot where they are or because they have become a meal for another forest animal,” he explained, adding that the forgotten stash often ends up developing into new nut-bearing trees that can benefit many animals in the ecosystem!

While this study was conducted abroad, we in turn urge all hunters inside Lebanon to refrain from hunting squirrels for sport, since these precious and now very rare animals can help us in our fight against deforestation in the country.

Just look how adorable these creatures are!
