Sea Monsters Right Out Of Your Nightmares

From giant squids to sea serpents... Monsters we only saw in books and horror movies do exist in real life too, and some of them are even more frightening than we thought! Take a look.

The Frilled Shark

This prehistoric creature dwells thousands of feet beneath the water surface. Sightings of this living fossil are rare but the one in the picture was spotted by a fisherman and taken to a marine park shortly after.

The Giant Squid

Giant Squids are deep sea creatures which can grown to a monstrous size due to deep sea gigantism. It was captured on tape for very first time in its natural habitat by Dr. Edith Widder.

The Mola Mola

The Mola Mola or the sunfish, is the heaviest fish in the world. It gets its name from its favorite hobby : sunbathing!

The Black Dragon-fish

These deep sea creatures are as frightening as they look. They live in deep waters where light cannot reach and hunt their preys with infrared lights only they can see.
The one in the picture is a female dragon-fish as the males are not as frightening and are born without a functional stomach. They purpose is only to breed!
