A clever dog who has been expertly trained to fight Africa's poaching crisis has become the first dog in the world to go skydiving as well.
German Shepherd pup Arrow has been recognized by the Guinness World Records team this week after undertaking his first skydive while taking part in anti-poaching activity at a defense base in Rustenburg, on the outskirts of the capital city of Pretoria in northern South Africa.
His handler Henry Holsthyzen, of Paramount Group’s Anti-Poaching and K9 Academy, took part in the event with pride, with Arrow strapped to him, after training his four-legged friend up since birth for the occasion.
The two-year-old dog was specially selected because he displayed such a good temperament and over the years has trained to descend from a helicopter by rope alongside his trainer.
