REPORT: LBCI crew enters Khaldiyeh neighborhood in Homs

The LBCI crew entered on Wednesday the Khaldiyeh neighborhood in Syria's Northern Homs, heading to the Khaled Ibn al-Walid Mosque which had been captured by the Syrian army following heavy clashes with opposition fighters.

Clashes are underway between the Syrian army and rebels in Khaldiyeh while sporadic gunshots and shelling are being heard.

This as sources told LBCI that some regions in Homs are still under the grip of the opposition as battles rage across Syrian areas such as al-Hamidyeh neighborhood.

A security official added to LBCI that regaining the control of Homs grants regime forces the ability to advance into various axes.
