REPORT: Lebanese citizens stuck in holiday traffic jam

Thousands of Lebanese citizens trying to leave Beirut were trapped on Thursday in a massive traffic jam on the highway due to the closure of the Ajaltoun intersection and the tunnel leading to Adonis for maintenance works.

While the bridge of Adonis leading to Beirut remained closed, sources told LBCI that it will be tested today [Thursday] in order to verify the validity of the materials used.

It is worth noting that the highway from Nahr al-Kalb toward Ghazir is witnessing a heavy traffic since a large number of citizens are heading to the North to spend the al-Fitr Holidays.
