REPORT: Nidal Hasan’s case back to the forefront

A military judge says the US Army psychiatrist on trial for the deadly 2009 Fort Hood shooting rampage can continue to represent himself.

Defense lawyers who have been helping Nidal Hasan have said he seems intent on being sentenced to death. They asked the judge to let them take over the case.

But the judge sided with Hasan on Thursday.

The attack on fellow soldiers killed 13 and wounded more than 30 in one of the country's worst mass shootings.
