VIDEO: Lebanese army launches pro-security mobile application

The Lebanese army launched on Friday a mobile phone application that enables users to communicate directly with the military institution in light of incessant instability witnessed in the country.

"LAF Shield" is now available on IOS and Android mobile phone operating systems, enabling users to upload photos, record videos, or send messages describing any security breach, the Army Command said.

People will be able to report any suspicious object, vehicle, crimes such as robberies, kidnappings, or clashes.

As well, the application will help boost efforts to arrest fugitives and release hostages, in addition to communicate information pertaining to landmines, collapses and security unrest, the Army Command added.

Emergency numbers, of the Civil Defense, Red Cross, firefighting departments, and Internal Security Forces, among others, are also available on the application.

The application comes in the wake of security tensions witnessed in Lebanon, where explosions rocked several regions killing dozens of Lebanese citizens.
