REPORT: Judge Saqr keeps Sheikh Menqara in custody over Tripoli's twin blasts

    
The First Military Investigative Judge Riad Abou Ghayda released on Monday Sheikh Hashem Menqara on bail, referred back his file to the State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr, and issued two arrest warrants against Sheikh Ahmad Gharib and Mustafa Houry on suspicion of their involvement in Tripoli's twin blasts.         

However, Judge Saqr refuted the order of Menqara's release, keeping him under custody, pending the decision of the Military Court of Cassation.          

On Friday the 23rd of August, two explosions rocked the northern Lebanese city of Tripoli near the al-Taqwa and al-Salam mosques, leaving 45 killed and almost 500 others injured.            
Head of the pro-Syria Islamic Tawhid Movement-Command Council Sheikh Hashem Menqara was detained on Thursday over “withholding information” in regards to the twin blasts that rocked the northern city of Tripoli.            

On another note, Judge Saqr filed a lawsuit against two arrested Lebanese citizens on suspicion of firing rockets from the Lebanese territories towards Israel.          

The two suspects were identified as: Youssef Fliti and Mohammad Abdel Mawla al-Atrach.          
Judge Saqr also filed a lawsuit against a third person who is still on the run. He referred the file to Judge Abou Ghayda.             

On the 22nd of August, unknown militants fired four Katyusha rockets from the southern region of Tyre towards northern Israel.          

Israeli Police spokeswoman Luba Samri said that initial reports indicated the two rockets landed in open fields, causing no damage.                    

The Israeli army explained that the Iron Dome Defense System intercepted one of the Katyusha rockets, while three crashed in uninhabited areas.
