REPORT: AUB students reject rise in tuition fee

On their first day of the academic year 2013-2014, the students attending the American University of Beirut were surprised when they were informed of a 6% rise in the tuition fees, leading them to kick off their protest movements by distributing statements detailing the increase of tuition fees over the past four years, which has reached 37%.

The students added that they will create a page on the social network Facebook to spread their rejection of such a measure.

For its part, the AUB’s administration said that the raise comes within the policy adopted by the university.
