REPORT: Mikati tasks officials with following up on the latest security breaches at the Roumieh prison

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati chaired on Wednesday a meeting at the Grand Serail during which he followed up on the latest developments pertaining to the security situation at the Roumieh prison.

The meeting was attended by caretaker Justice Minister Shakib Qortbawi, acting General Prosecutor Judge Samir Hammoud, Fiscal Attorney Judge Ali Ibrahim, cabinet's Secretary General Souheil Bouji, in addition to other security officials.

During the meeting, caretaker PM Mikati tasked the General Prosecution and the Central Inspection Bureau with following up on the latest security breaches inside the Roumieh prison, asking them to refer to the judiciary all those involved in these incidents.

For his part, Minister Qortbawi noted that the judiciary will be carrying out its duties to the fullest.
