REPORT: Iran nuclear talks likely to end without agreement - diplomats

Barring a late breakthrough, talks between Iran and six world powers on Tehran's nuclear program are likely to end on Saturday without an agreement, but are expected to resume in a few weeks, Western diplomats said.
   
"Clearly, efforts are still going on," one diplomat said.

This as Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that if no deal is reached with world powers over Iran's nuclear program, talks could continue in a week to 10 days.

"There was a possibility, and perhaps it still exists, that if there are good intentions we can reach an agreed-upon text," Zarif told reporters in Geneva.

"If we reach a result by the end of today, it's reached. If not, the process will continue in one week or 10 days."
    
Iran and six world powers remain divided on the third day of negotiations on Tehran's disputed nuclear program, a senior Iranian negotiator said, according to Iranian media.
    
He also said that he expected this round of talks in Geneva would end later during the day. If other issues remain, they would be carried over for further negotiations, he added.

This as Britain said important issues remain to be resolved at negotiations on Iran's nuclear program and there was no certainty that a deal could be reached during this round of talks despite "very good progress" so far. 

"These negotiations have made very good progress and continue to make good progress. But there are still important issues to resolve, so clearly they are not over yet," Foreign Secretary William Hague told reporters during a break in the talks.

Earlier, France said there was no certainty nuclear talks under way with Iran in Geneva would succeed because of major stumbling blocks over an initial proposed text on a deal.
