Speaker Nabih Berri discussed on Monday the regional repercussions of the nuclear deal between Iran and world powers with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the head of its Shura Council Ali Larijani.
Following the meeting, Berri dubbed the agreement as “historic.”
For his part, Larijani said that his talks with Berri were “constructive”, saying they focused on bilateral relations and regional developments.
Speaker Berri arrived to Tehran in an official visit with a delegation formed by MPs Abdellatif Zein, Hagop Pakradounian, Ghazi Zaiter, Ali Fayyad and Kassem Hachem.
He also expected to hold talks with Iranian President Hassan Rouhani.
Tehran has agreed with world powers to stop uranium enrichment over 5 percent for the six-month period and to neutralize its uranium enriched to 20 percent.
In return, the European Union and United States will suspend sanctions on Iran's petrochemical exports and other valuable materials.
