REPORT: LF MP Karam says Change and Reform bloc needs “change and reform”, FPM's Jreissati responds
Lebanese Forces (LF) MP Fadi Karam held a press conference on Thursday whereby he said that the Sunni-Shiite strife cannot be addressed solely by calls to unite the Christian community.

“The so-called Gathering of Christians in the Levant was only a “show off” for the Free Patriotic Movement and forces opposing the LF,” he noted.

“Those who visit the tyrant [President Bashar al-Assad] for several times, without visiting Lebanese detainees in Syrian jails, are not entitled to pretend that they defend the Lebanese and the Christians’ rights,” MP Karam said in response to the Change and Reform bloc’s allegations.

He added that the Change and Reform bloc needs “change and reform,” calling on the bloc’s leader MP Michel Aoun to refrain from carrying out plots against the Lebanese Forces.

On the other hand, caretaker Minister of Labor Salim Jreissati respond that LF MP Fadi Karam only addressed 2 out of the 12 points raised by the Free Patriotic Movement's statement.

“I’m surprised by this MP who was entrusted to destroy all the Christian accomplishments in Lebanon with tense and sullen words that are not representative of him nor the political minority he represents,” he said in his statement.

Jreissati also stressed that the everyone knows that the Free Patriotic Movement is free and its political performance  do not need anyone’s  testimony.
