REPORT: FSA's spokesman Mokdad denies to LBCI allegations about Head Salim Idriss fleeing to Doha
Free Syrian Army's media and political co-coordinator Louay al Mokdad denied to LBCI allegations about Salim Idriss flying to Doha on Thursday.

The Wall Street Journal quoted US officials late on Wednesday as saying that the Head of Free Syrian Army Salim Idriss was compelled to flee Syria after extremist fighters captured FSA bases in the North.

“The Islamists also took over key warehouses holding US military gear for moderate fighters in northern Syria over the weekend,” the newspaper reported.

The US officials told the newspaper that “Idriss flew to the Qatari capital of Doha on Sunday after fleeing to Turkey,” adding that “he escaped as a result of the Islamic Front taking over his headquarters”.

The Syrian conflict, now well in its third year, has killed more than 120,000 people. The crisis started as a peaceful uprising against President Bashar al-Assad but deteriorated into an all-out civil war after a brutal government crackdown on dissent.
