REPORT: Crocodile spotted again in Beirut River estuary
A dangerous crocodile, missing for over 5 months, was spotted again on Wednesday in the Beirut River estuary.

Civil Defense members and animal rights activists are set to arrive to the said location in order to deal with the crocodile.

Last July, the caretaker Agriculture Ministry confirmed to LBCI that a crocodile was found in the Beirut River estuary, in the region located near the Sukleen Company.

Veterinary physician Walid Darwish had identified the reptile as a Crocodilus Niloticus, one of the world’s most dangerous, and considered a cause for hundreds of human deaths every year.

According to Darwish, the Nile crocodile’s length ranges between 4 to 6 meters, weighing around 500 KG, adding that it is a very aggressive species of crocodile that is capable of taking on almost any animal within its range.
