REPORT: Ministry of Culture offers 1000 books to Tripoli's al-Saeh library

Caretaker Minister of Culture Gaby Layyoun visited on Wednesday the al-Saeh library in the northern city of Tripoli and met with Father Ibrahim Sarrouj.

This as Layyoun offered 1000 books to the library.

On Friday night, unknown assailants set fire to a famous library owned by Father Ibrahim Sarrouj in Tripoli, after reports claimed that the father had published an article deemed insulting to Islam.

Al-Saeh Library is considered one of the most renowned libraries in Tripoli and the second largest in Lebanon.

Sarrouj says the library contains more than 70,000 books.
