REPORT: 4-year-old Syrian refugee sexually assaulted in Marjeyoun

A four-year-old Syrian child was repeatedly assaulted by the man who works for his father in the region of Marjeyoun.

According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, Mohammad has been placed under the care of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) since Tuesday and is now undergoing medical checkups and psychiatric evaluation.

In this context, Mohammad’s mother expressed her shock toward this incident, adding that “this monster used to ask them for food, and used to work for them,” as she said.

While reports emerged stating the rapist, who is currently detained at Hbeish police station, is suffering from AIDS and may have infected the child, sources from the social affairs ministry denied these information.
