The state-run Syrian television declared on Thursday that the Syrian army controlled Rima Farms and continued its operations in the Yabroud city in Damascus countryside. This comes as clashes and shelling continued in the strategic town of Yabroud, while Syrian regime troops attempt to control the rebel-held town. This as Syrian regime officer said that the troops are awaiting orders in order to advance towards the town of Flita. Earlier, Syrian state media said a car bomb has exploded in the central city of Hama, killing at least four people.
The report did not say who was behind the blast and there was no immediate claim of responsibility. This as 15 people were killed and 12 others wounded in a car bomb blast in the central Syrian city of Homs.
The attack took place in the Armenian district, which is home to mostly Christians and Alawites."
Rebel groups, including those linked to al-Qaeda, have frequently targeted government institutions and Syrian troops with car bombs and suicide attacks.
SANA also reported that government forces killed at least 10 rebels in clashes on the outskirts of Homs on Thursday. Homs is Syria's third largest city and has seen some of the heaviest fighting in the 3-year-old conflict. AP/LBCI To watch Bassam Abou Zeid's report, please click on the video above.
