REPORT: UCC calls for sit-in on Tuesday outside Parliament

The Union Coordination Committee called Sunday for holding a general meeting on Monday morning to discuss the recommendations related to the strike and sit-in set to be staged on Tuesday at 11:00 am outside the Parliament.

In this regard, the head of the UCC Hanna Gharib stressed in a press conference that the UCC will not allow the increase of the Value Added Tax (VAT) rate on the poor, noting that “hiding the facts of the discussions conducted by the joint parliamentary committees regarding the series of ranks and salaries complicates the issue even more.”

Gharib added that the UCC decided the raise the alarm concerning the rights of the employees and all those concerned with the pay scale, “since these rights have become unknown.”
